Position Overview
Adventure Cycling seeks a versatile, detail-oriented marketing professional to execute across multiple marketing channels during a transition period. This role focuses on social media management, email marketing, blog editing/writing, public relations, and ambassador relationship management. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing many hats and can confidently shift between different marketing disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Publish, curate, and manage content across social platforms. Source user-generated content, engage with our community, and monitor social trends relevant to our audience.
- Content Creation & Editing: Write or edit engaging blog posts, social copy, email campaigns, and marketing materials. Edit long-form content for brand consistency and clarity. Liaise with external writers.
- Email Marketing: Develop and execute email campaigns including newsletters, promotional emails, and targeted communications to members and supporters.
- Public Relations: Draft press releases, pitch stories to media outlets, and manage media relationships to secure coverage of our programs and impact.
- Ambassador & Partner Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, ambassadors, and brand partners. Coordinate ambassador programs, content partnerships, social media collaborations, and giveaways.
- Community Management: Respond to brand and hashtag mentions, engage with followers, and foster an inclusive online community aligned with our organizational values.
- Asset Curation: Collect and curate organizational and user-generated photos and videos for Adventure Cycling’s asset library, including light editing and applying metadata.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track KPIs, analyze campaign performance, and provide regular reports with actionable insights to leadership.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with the marketing team and program teams to align marketing efforts with organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing social media channels with demonstrated success growing and engaging online communities
- Excellent writing and editing skills across formats (social posts, blog articles, emails, press releases)
- Comfortable working in multiple marketing areas including social, email, blog, PR, and partnerships
- Data-driven with ability to analyze metrics and translate insights into strategy
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
- Experience with project management tools, Asana a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and building a diverse community
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building relationships with influencers and content creators
- Background in public relations or journalism
- Familiarity with design principles and ability to provide creative direction
- Track record of generating earned media coverage
- Passion for cycling and/or outdoor recreation
Contract Details
- Duration: March-December 2026
- Hours: 35-40/week, must be available during weekday business hours M-F
- Location: Remote; must have own computer
- Compensation: $35-38/hour

There will be two interviews total and a short writing or editing test for applicants who progress through the first interview.
